Be a Capitalist AND a Communist!steemCreated with Sketch.

I often see opposing sides that have a lot more in common than they realize. My uncle once told me that if you accept a truth entirely, that truth becomes a falsehood and you become a fanatic. I'm still not exactly sure what I think about that statement, but I do think we often agree a lot more than we admit when having idealogical arguments.

Most of these thoughts come from my dad. He had quite a few talks with me about anger. One of the main things I remember him trying to get across to me was to take a hard look at myself when I was angry. Over time I have found that extremely useful. I am not a victim. I am responsible for the reality that I create. I can't say that this applies to you, but it is the way I see things for myself.

He also told me that if you get good at making excuses, you don't get good at anything else. Please forgive me if I come off as an asshole - I often do, even though I really don't want to. I want to spread happiness and love, but some days I have anger and I have learned to express that anger.

The idea of being a capitalist and communist is not my own. Neither is the saying about money being a great servant but a horrible master. Both of those teachings come from the great master known as Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov. Please look into his teaching if those ideas intrigue you. He never wrote any books but many of his students transcribed his lectures so that now there many books containing his teachings.

Wow... probably the best and most significant post I have seen on Steemit this month! Resteeming...

My father taught me "to be open to the possibilities, including the possibility that you are wrong and have no idea what you are talking about." He didn't really live it, but it was a good lesson... and taught me to listen to extremes, even if I disagreed with them.

As I observe the world, it seems to me that when people get attached to their beliefs they end up closing themselves off to alternatives that might help them better their own existence. We get trapped in boxes called "Our Label" and it becomes really hard to consider and incorporate concepts that aren't already inside our box. It disturbs a (false) sense of peace we've built.

Here we are on Steemit, a venue that celebrates independence, freedom and decentralization... but I also see a tendency to reject the worthy parts of centralized structures as "a matter of principle." So I kind of see where your uncle was coming from... when taken to extremes, even worthy ideas and causes start to stink of fanaticism.

I think I'd have fewer issues with Ripple if it were truthfully labeled for what it is-- a "bankcoin."

Well said sir! We stand on the shoulders of Giants!

Yeah I see too much focus in crypto-land on decentralization when we should be focussed on disintermediation, you can argue they go hand in hand, but not always.

Look at cloud computing, its centralized to a few big players, but its pretty efficient, you can try and wedge crypto in there, but it doesnt make the system really any more efficient, it just decentralizes it. Centralized/decentralized isnt a one dimensional thing, but people tend to hold tightly onto easy examples and forget the nuance. My Dad taught me that 'you always need the right tools if you are going to do the job properly'.

Nice post

Your father is a wise man. I used to have severe anger problems for many years, mostly through high school and early college. The smallest things sometimes set me off so bad that it ruined my day, such as I got the wrong order at McDonald's and lost my shit and let it control my mood.

It took me years and a lot of meditation and reflection to sit back and understand that, just because some things don't go your way, doesn't mean you can't take those things and allow them to become your way.
Sun Tzu teaches us that a failure is not necessarily a failure as it causes us to take a step back and rethink and create a new strategy. If something doesn't go your way, try following the way it does go. This is taught also by Bruce Lee, who said to "be like water". Water takes the shape of everything it touches and adapts to every situation.

So the next time you get a chicken sandwich at McDonald's instead of the burger you ordered, don't let anger control you, take a bite and you'll see that they're also delicious in a different way.

Interesting post. Upvoted.
This is on point -> "I am responsible for the reality that I create."
I like your take on Ripple as well.
I am interested on what you mean by communism. Can you elaborate?
I have held that true capitalism can only exist in the absence of government and authority, while communism, the political theory derived from Karl Marx, requires centralized government and force to do things like steal and redistribute, which I believe to be different than sharing.

I agree. I basically just mean sharing and trading.

I can't watch the video now because no sound on my computer but the words above it made me want to keep reading. You create your own reality.

I rarely use labels to describe myself, for the same reasons that you state. Sometimes I look almost exactly like the stereotype of a certain label, but if I start calling myself that, I feel I am boxing myself in and becoming less open to improvement that could only occur outside of the box.

I believe in community.

Me. Too.

And you're dead on. Ripple is WAY over valued.

Great decision to go for a walk. When you're pissed or unsettled it definitely burns off that edge.

For me, walking in a natural environment is the best form of meditation.

I think you should never follow an ideology, just so it can answer all questions for you. You should answer these questions by yourself and then see what words describe your viewpoints best.

I consider myself a socialist or a liberal nationalistic communist as a long version. I have quiet a lot of political conversations with @dwinblood and he considers himself an Anarcho-Capitalist. We agree on almost all problems in society, our solutions just differ sometimes.

Campaigning with slogans, insults and shouting against another political viewpoint won't help you, well maybe it can get rid of some bottled up anger issues, but that's it. I also never witnessed an insult convincing someone.

Discussion is always the way to go. You might realize that perceived opposites are not that different after all.

Yes, I have said that for Years. Both involve, eventually, invoking the power to the People. It just never gets to that point because of the greed at the top.

Exactly! Until we overcome the greed in our hearts, we will continue to have these struggles.

Yep.

I Funkin LOVE You Brother! Highly rEsteemed!
I needed this just now on my home page.
Thank You and SteemOn!

Capitalism is NOT to blame for Banker Wars those bankers are fucking communists! they fund the communists! seriously we cant have this idea that you can ahve "both" as if they are equally fucking balancd

and sweeden denmarkk finland norway these are all very very market driven economies theres no socialism there, yeah they have strong social programs because they all pay their high taxes and they all are homogenous (well used to be, ) and we just have a very wwell functioning society in countries like sweeden and denmark.. but people always use them as this excuse for why we should have a "mixed" capiatlist and soocialist system lol

ALSO fully automated luxury CAPITALISM is what we are going towards! why would it be communism?

It's almost as if you paid no attention at all to what I said.

Wow! didn't expect that honesty! I think we are probably in agreement if you try to get my meaning. Sorry if I threw you off with the title.

so I'm looking through Lindsey's blog , trying to see her formatting.. and I see there are videos and I see this one and Ike! I can tell you you what a capitalist crossed with a communist is... we call it Democrat. lol. We used to call it liberal. I think we could almost call it libertarian. Just not a repuplican... :D ... But definitely an American with an idealistic and kind spirit... which is what our country started with. Next time you feel angry... just come up and hang out with the Alpacas... you'll feel better. And I'll make you some coffee. Just make sure you bring your beautiful girlfriend with you. xoxo ;)
