hi,
you need to add a new server, for it. Do a search and you will find, few servers. The 2 ones that come with the Electrum wallet which i have for example, sometimes don"t connect. But keep in mind the green dot does"t have to stay always green, its just syncing on an off, its normal. Just try the servers you find, it will work faster, it took me 1 min and received all my funds. Its really quick. Best regards

    I do appreciate the help, but I could not even get to step one of installing Electrum. Immediate failure and error report. QT I at least got installed to the point of being able to open it. However, it seems like the proper directory for the blockchain file was not installed.
