Gold!

Did you know that throughout history, gold has been used as a variety of different things. Probably considered the world's most precious metal, gold has been utilized as coinage, jewelry and other arts such as decoration for temples and tombs, masks, figurines and even teeth.

Before coming to a halt in the 30's, gold coins were a circulating currency. However, president Roosevelt confiscated Americans' gold in 1933. The gold standard was abandoned for paper and cheap metals. This lead to an enormous hike in the national debt which continues to climb today!

I’m holding bitcoin! But I’m hokding my gold too👍👍👍

Diversification is a great thing :)

That it is! It’s a shame many in our crypto space are all or nothing. Some say Gold is pointless and I just wanna help them understand how shallow and short sided that statement is. Gold will always have value! We can be team Gold and team bitcoin! In fact this should go hand in hand!

Steem now much better than gold

Very interesting)

Great infofrmative post!

To be fair in the digital age, carrying gold coins (or silver coins) around would seem to be an outdated concept. Few people use fiat cash these days. The future of gold is a crypto-gold. A gold backed crypto currency offering all the benefits of gold with the transactional digital benefits of crypto.

As a gold bug... from my cold dead hands :P

The most stable store of value, that same gold coin would buy a comparable set of duds throughout the ages. Its price is also thrown out of whack by cronyist forces, but, thankfully, crypto is challenging that. Diversification is wise and buying silver with crypto is strangely satisfying. I imagine metals will always be the zombie apocalypse fall back position for those who can afford it.
