DEFINITION of 'Abenomics'
Is the name used for the multi-pronged economic program of Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe. Abenomics seeks to change two decades of stagnation by increasing the nation’s money supply, boosting government spending and enacting reforms to make the economy more competitive.

Abenomics was instituted in the beginning of 2013 to fight deflation in the Japanese economy after 2 decades of slow growth.

The Abenomics program consists of 3 pillars or "arrows." Firstly they will print money or currency of between 60 trillion to 70 trillion yen ($500 billion to $600 billion at a 1 USD = 110 Yen rate) this will create inflation and a weaker currency which would lift exports. Secondly the program will spend more money on government programs. Lastly or the third "arrow" seeks to eliminate various regulations.
