Yessss we all know, money isn't everything... and yes we all know we should not chase the money. But we all do! And it's human. In our world, money is directly linked with freedom and independence.
If you have enough money, you can live the life you ever wanted - you got that in mind, so it's normal behaviour to chase money. It does not excuse fraud or greed, but most people would do everything for one million dollar...
It makes more sense to ask: why is money = freedom? And why are there only a few people who are free? And why is it so damn hard to get out of your hamster wheel?
Of course it is also wanted that we remain normal workers. Somehow this system has to be financed. A piece of advice from me: try to break out of the wheel!! Someday the money will not be worth anything, so look at it for what it is: A game! Either you win or you die (mentally).
