I Joined a Credit Union Recently

Banks can be problematic at times. But if I am going to exist in contemporary society, it appears as though I do have to deal with them in some fashion.... so I recently joined a credit union. According to The Credit Union National Association (CUNA), credit unions are member owned, managed by a volunteer board of directors and not-for-profit. As a consequence, clients generally have a much better experience managing their money with credit unions than banks.

Four main reasons to join a credit union:

  1. Better customer service than banks.
  2. Fewer fees.
  3. Lower interest rates.
  4. Business loans are easier to get.

I recently joined The California Bear Credit Union located in the Ronald Reagan federal building in downtown Los Angeles. It was very easy to sign up. Here are some photos of the lobby of the federal building and a photo of the entrance to the credit union.
