I came across this oddity while taking photos the other day. At some stage in the tree's life, there was a cut in the tree's trunk which has healed completely although normally when cuts to the trunk heal, the shape is circular. This one healed as a straight line, giving a "pursed lips" effect
She stood looking at the tree. She swore it had said something. She poked at the lips with a stick.
The lips moved. And spoke again....
"You're in MY forest."
She nearly fell over - the forest was alive. It was something she had suspected but now there was proof. The forest was alive.
