Hello my friends, Steemians! I hope You have a good start to the new week and ahead of us a lot of interesting and pleasant events. Today for #Monochromemonday a few of my photos .

Rostra - the so-called nose of the ship (in Latin meaning "beak"). In Ancient Rome there was a tradition in honor of victory in a sea battle to set the columns which adorned the nasal rostrums of captured ships.

These Rostral columns are installed in St. Petersburg in 1810. They are a memorial of the naval glory of Russia. Their height is 32 meters. Architect Jean-françois Thomas de Thomon. In the beginning they served as a lighthouse but later turned into a monument.

In our days it is one of the most pleasant places that like to visit the residents and guests of our city. During the holidays and important celebrations in St. Petersburg, here are lit bright orange torches.

Thank you for Your attention and Your visit. I appreciate Your feedback and comments.
