Monochrome Monday - Père Lachaise Cemetary in Paris

Have you been comparing yourself to others lately? Life could be so carefree if you wouldn't, right? If you can't stop - and honestly: who can? - try comparing yourself to people on the graveyard. There's a simple but fundamental difference. They're below the ground and you're above it. Of course that might not be good enough for you. You might aim for higher goals like emotional, physical, financial and social wealth.

But there are these days, when I'm humble enough to be grateful for just being above the ground. Jim Morrison lies on this cemetary in Paris - below the ground. The passing spring breeze - he can't feel it on his face. He can't hear the crows in the trees, neither can he feel the cobblestones beneath his feet. Enjoy your day, enjoy being alive. It's a present.
