Waring! Buggy Post Ahead!

Macro is one of the most interesting branches of photography. One of my favorites for sure. The little details that it reveals every single time never cease to amaze me.

Even when things don't work out exactly as you were expecting, it still leaves enough room for one's creativity to obtain an interesting image no matter what. These next two captures are two good examples of that shot "rehabilitation" I am talking about

On this first one I photographed a ladybug walking around on an unexpected place, some abandoned and rusty train tracks. No clue about what she was up to, perhaps getting some minerals from the rust? That's just a silly assumption, I don't even know if they do that.

Anyway, back to the shot... When I first looked at it I didn't like the tones much, too much yellows, oranges and reds in one place, so I decided to make it black and white (I bet you'd never expect that!).

Even the simple black and white version looked too messy, so I plunged into plan C, took it to photoshop and patiently brushed all that mess away. This was one of the final results.

The one bellow has a slightly different story.
We found a web full of these tinny yellow fellas, freshly hatched. The place looked like a spider kindergarten!

There was nothing wrong with the colors this time, their vivid yellow was contrasting perfectly with the background. They even seemed to be playing among themselves and having fun. Like these two guys here, swinging on their webs around that twig.

Again, back to the shot. I have the attention span of a goldfish...
The problem with this specific image was the noise. I hate to see noise on any shot, but I also loved the way these two little spiders looked, so I recurred to my plan C once again. Besides the usual brush attack I also removed all the colors except on my mini models, allowing them to pop out even more that way.

Have a great Sunday, wherever you are!

I think this is a natural phenomenon... if the colors don't make a good contrast... simply converts them into black and white. And you can get an awesome view.
