I took this photo while riding on the BTS train in Bangkok Thailand. This runs over the city in most parts of the route and gives an awesome view of things you would not see at ground level.
I was fascinated by this large site and how it goes so deeply into the ground. Two of the large cranes are disappearing into big holes and I wonder how that makes sense. I’ve seem cranes be put together and I know they come in pieces. Maybe these started at level with the site and then it grew higher around them.
I like this photo in monochrome as it brings out detail I did not notice as much in the color version. The protective barricades around various pits seem to stand out very well.
I’ve been posting to the monomad contest by @monochromes for a few months now and I’m glad I started this. It’s teaching me a lot about my photography as I see these shots in new edits. It’s very interesting to take a fresh view on something I thought I knew. And I really see clutter in my shots now! I’m trying for more simplicity and not finding much.
So now I have a goal for the future. Give his contest a try, and you might like it too!
I used a Canon ELPH160 point and shoot camera for this photo.
