Vegetable Hauling Northern Thailand monomad

in monomad •  6 years ago

I first thought the vegetables in the back of this truck were potatoes. But on a closer look I think they are some other kind of root vegetable instead. Some of them are much larger that a potato would ever grow.

Do you know what these vegetables are?

You can not tell in this edit, but the driver is looking at me as I got busted taking photos of passing traffic. This scene is outside the walls of a resort I was staying in at the time in Northern Thailand. I was there alone before it opened and traffic was mostly my only company.

I am always fascinated by the many different vehicles in SE Asia and how they keep the older ones on the road. I do not think this one is too old, but it is kept up really well for a work truck.

I used a Canon ELPH160 point and shoot camera for this photo. My post today is for the monomad daily contest by @monochromes. You can find a lot of inspiring photography on the daily winner posts over there, so please take a look.

Howdy today fitinfun! Well I have no idea what vegetables or roots those are but they look huge! Great picture of the truck too.

Thank you! It's not easy when they are speeding by lol.

Maybe it's cassava/yam?
