The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is an actual breed started in 1955 by breeding working line German Shepherds with Carpathian Wolves. After that every subsequent litter was bred from the best progeny. The breed was fully recognised in 1982. They were used initially by the military, and also search and rescue. They have the obedience of the Shepherd and the stamina, enhanced smell, hearing and sight of the Wolf. They don't smell like dog. Their eyes are just as good day and night like cats.
Not an easy dog for a beginner.
Lucius's mother is a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog x Wolf hybrid, so he is not quite as compliant as his half sibling Luna. They share the same father. He is selective in his obedience. He is very very intelligent and only does things if he wants to or if it is worth it.
But he is laid back, very loyal and affectionate (all on his terms). He is 100% mine.
They are very pack oriented.

From a breeder I know in the UK. He imported Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs from other countries to keep up the breed.
