My MonoMad Post ~ Victim of Vesuvius

This is one of the bodies uncovered at Pompeii, Italy, where on August 24th, 79 A.D., a wall of ash traveling 100 mph covered the city and neighboring Herculaneum, killing every living creature in its path. This body is currently on display at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. It's really something to consider that this was once a living person like you or me, and to think of what it must have been like to experience the noise, the darkness, the suffocating, noxious gases, and to be buried at once under tons of ash.
