Almost Forgotten

This one is for the #monomad challenge hosted by @monochromes

Hello Steemians! Today here is a photo of an old hydroelectric plant on Chignahuapan. It was called "Luz y Fuerza Motriz de Chignauapan".

This was the machine house were two turbines started produce electricity on 1930. Sadly today the building is completely abandoned and even with some uggly tags on their walls.

But still is a pretty place to visit and you can see a wonderfull waterfall next to it.

¡Hola Steemians!

good!

Thanks!

Nature takes back everything as soon as possible. Shame that this place is abandoned. Is there no one to instal a new turbine?

Yeah, but sometimes that can create some interesting places, don't you think? No there's no one who had the chance. As far as I know this place work 50 years earlier than the CFE bringed electric energy to the towns. At that time if you had the capital and will to do the things then you do it because there was no one else. When CFE take the distribution bussines in the state they close the plant because it was expensive and inneficient (the remaining turbines are very very small)...

Yes, such abandoned places have a special atmosphere, indeed. I know from some people in Germany who repaired the old turbines and could sell the energy which is good for the pocket and for the environment.
