When thinking about learning, the most convenient possibility to get new information is via the internet (supposing you have a internet connection which is not the case in many parts of the world).

What is MOOC?
The term MOOC was first used in early 2008 but only in 2012 it was mentioned in The New York Times which declared 2012 at "the year of the Mooc". The acronym MOOC comes from Massive Open Online Courses. 2012 was also the year all the big Mooc provider were launched - Coursera, Udacity, edX, FutureLearn.

So if you want to get some course, don't wait and start enrolling to your preferred course. A lot of them are free, some you have to pay for and some other expect a payment if you want a certificate / degree from them.

Here some MOOC sites:
Coursera
Udacity
edX
FutureLearn

If you are looking for a consolidated way of courses the mooc list (www.mooc-list.com) could be helpful.

According to Class Central (www.class-central.com) in 2016 there were

  • 58 M students
  • 700+ Universities offering courses
  • 6850 courses available

If you want to go deeper into the MOOC universe let me know what you want to read about it.

Enjoy,
Sorin
