Hello world! Apologies for the knackered old cliche but I have two good reasons to use it, firstly this is my first post on Steem and secondly I'm looking for views from around the world.
I live in the UK about half way up the northern hemisphere. When we look at the full moon in the night sky we are acknowledged by a large and unchanging face staring straight back at us. We call him the Man in the Moon. Something I have always taken for granted.
Despite having an interest in astronomy it never occurred to me that at different latitudes the 'face' of the moon appears at a different angle. That is, until I visited Cuba and then Chile. It seems many Latin Americans see a Woman in the Moon, namely the virgin Mary.
So I'm curious, who do you see in the moon (and where do you live)?
