The island of Malta continues to be a hotbed for crypto-currency activities. MoonZebra, an innovative company after the introduction of three new crypto-money and Blockchain laws that set the standards, drove the first two-way Bitcoin ATMs to the market. The ATM is located on Tower Road in Sliema, one of the iconic locations of the island.
What is MoonZebra?
MoonZebra is a collaboration between Bitcoin and business man Jonas Abrahamsson, who is generally a crypto money expert, and Bitcoin maximalist Leon Siegmund (also known as Lee Winmouth). In addition, Siegmund is one of the founders of Bitcoin Club Malta, which regularly organizes events and meetings and is a local connection point.
In a private interview, Siegmund explained:
The idea of Bitcoin ATM is not very high technology, but it will make people more interested in Bitcoin and crypto money in general.
Siegmund added:
When I moved to Malta two years ago, there was not much on behalf of Bitcoin and decentralized notebook technology. In just 2 years, and with the common efforts of many people, something very special happened. I met Jonas Abrahamsson at the Bitcoin Meetup event in Gozo in early 2017. We tried to find something to be appreciated by the local Bitcoin community in Malta and found our first public trash can in the island. They were digital and their use was rewarded with tokens. I have to say that it was a great idea but it never yielded fruit. Another idea was a Bitcoin ATM. It would be very difficult to work on this issue because the banks are very hostile to this issue and they do not want to support us. However, after a lot of blood, sweat and tears, we are very happy to offer it.
Siegmund thinks that Malta is a great potential for trade and that society will develop with Malta as a center for Bitcoin and other crypto money.
Malta has a rolling history in terms of Bitcoin ATMs in general. In 2017, Malta's first Bitcoin ATM disappeared, and charities were fined more than 3,000 euros. However, MoonZebra will completely change this perception with the new ATM. A team of 4 crypto specialists will be involved in the maintenance and repair of crypto ATMs. In the not too distant future, more projects are planned to pass.
What is CryptoATM?
A crypto ATM allows people to realize how they can get cash through a very familiar way and through crypto-money. Users should only go to ATM, deposit cash, enter the public key. Users will be able to convert the crypto into a price again with a two-way ATM. In addition, users will be able to bypass the stock market. MoonZebra's crypto ATM will initially only work with Bitcoin, but this may change in the future.
