How does society cope with this kind of politics? I want to know about your personal experience on this topic

In my country (Venezuela) The whole economy is a mess partially because of free bonuses that were given to all kind of people. Obviously Singapore has a strong economy to sustain this kind of mesaure, but do people become lazy or are more productive?
