Moro Rock. the granite monolith. 400 step hike and I thought I was going to die

The hike to the top of Moro Rock is one of the most popular hikes in the Sequoia National Park.

The view and the memories are reason enough for the temporary discomfort.

The dome-shaped granite monolith has a staircase all the way to the top, and I was wearing slip-flops and I had my son Daniel on my back.

I wanted to stop a few times to catch my breath, but Daniel wanted me to continue without a break. Both my boys dislike stillness.

The top of the rock was crowded so I didn't get to walk to the edge, but being on the top was good enough for me.

I'm @runridefly, and it took me 22 minutes to hike the trail, and I will be in much better shape the next time I climb Moro Rock.

Where did you go? Nice to see @runrudy

I just felt like running and trying new things. : )

What an adventurous location... truly funtabulous!

That is hard work especially with your little one on your back, well done though you did it :)

@karenb54, so much fun even with all the pain in my chest and the shaking legs. Next time will be easier.

The pain in your chest doesn't sound to good, maybe you should take it slowly for a few days :)

Good thing I was there to drive home. My excuse for not going up there... Harvey was sleeping. Plus I would have passed out and you would have carried all 3 of us down haha

I almost gave Daniel to a complete stranger, so that one of us would survive to tell the story.

My quads are burnin just looking at those photos! Thanks for sharing!
