God offered an alliance to Moses: Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure

The prophet Moses received from the Lord, the mission to free his people from the slavery they suffered in Egypt. And so Moses had to face the hardness of Pharaoh's heart, but through the wonders that God worked, Moses freed his people and led them through the desert to the promised land: "So I have come down to rescue them from the land of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey" Exodus 3:8.
It is so during the trip that the people of Israel made a pact with the Lord, God's plan of salvation was unfolding, the patriarch Abraham received the promise of a holy nation in Canaan, but the prophet Moses received the Law of God at the Sinai.
The pact that God made with Moses on Mount Horeb was a compromise between the free and loving mercy of God that offered the Israelites to make them a consecrated nation among all the countries on the earth, and the fidelity to the established commandments on the part of the Israelites.
This is how the pact began, with the offer of the alliance by God to Moses:
"Then Moses climbed the mountain to appear before God. The LORD called to him from the mountain and said, ´Give these instructions to the family of Jacob; announce it to the descendants of Israel: ´You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles´ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.´ This is the message you must give to the people of Israel.´" Exodus 19:3-6
It is so that after this offer, Moses gathered the priests and the people, who responded positively to put into practice what was offered by the Lord; and so God delivered the Decalogue to Moses.
