After the sinking of its naval vessel Moskva in the Ukraine war, Russian official television stated that World War III had already begun. Despite Russia's assertion that it was damaged by a fire, Ukraine claims responsibility for destroying the flagship of Moscow's Black Sea Fleet with its Neptune missile.
The loss of the ship, however, caused a breakdown on Russia 1, the Kremlin's major propaganda organ. Olga Skabeyeva, the show's host, made the alarming comment, telling viewers that "what it's escalated into can safely be dubbed World War III," adding that "that's entirely for sure."
"Right now, we're fighting NATO infrastructure, if not NATO itself." According to Metro, Skabeyeva went on to say, "We need to recognise that."
Despite the Kremlin's claims that it sank due to a fire, a guest on the show equated the sinking of the Moskva to an attack on Russian soil.
The man was informed that instead of calling Russia's invasion of Ukraine a war, the government-approved phrase to use is "special military operation."
On social media, a clip from the show has gone viral.
According to Olesya Loseva, host of Channel One's Vremya Pokazhet, the West is now arming Ukraine with "zillions of weapons."
Furthermore, Russian news agencies claimed late Thursday that the cruiser Moskva sank while being pulled back to port in rough weather.
