Masjid Raya Baiturrahman is a mosque of Sultanate of Aceh built by Sultan Iskandar Muda in 1022 H / 1612 AD Beautiful and magnificent buildings similar to Taj Mahal in India. 
Baiturrahman Great Mosque is located in downtown Banda Aceh. Marked by 35 m tall towers, 7 large dome and 7 minarets, Baiturrahman may be an example to other mosques in Indonesia.

This is where hundreds of people fled from the 2004 tsunami that almost flattened the whole city. At that time the tsunami was devastating, destroying every building, both old and new. Baiturrahman is a place of worship as well as a major landmark in Aceh. But not just magnificent, the mosque is also a silent witness of many miraculous stories.And this is the new face of the baiturrahman mosque after 13 years of devastating tsunami.
