Mei Tai

Mei Tai is an Asian-style baby carrier that consists of a rectangular piece of fabric with 4 straps that you use to tie your baby onto you. It is my personal favorite because I don't have to adjust any buckels, and I hate the buckle adjustment. It can easily be used by one person and then immediately by the next without any adjustment.

Back carry with a toddler size Mei Tai.

This type of carrier is wonderful for small babies through toddler age and is especially great for caregivers with back issues, as the carrier distributes weight over your entire upper body and uses 2 shoulders. It can be used for front and back carries from newborn, but most commonly after 4th or 5th month, through preschool age as well as for hip carries, though I have yet to see someone actually carry the baby on the hip in Mei Tai. These carriers offer the option to nurse hand free.

My partner in crime @alktoni carrying our 2nd kid in a Mei Tai at bedtime. She was carried to fall asleep for almost a year and a half. Tough cookie, that one.

They are versatile and easy to learn how to use, maybe the easiest, I would say. It can come in gorgeous prints and patterns, the big panel is ideal for all kinds of prints and embroideries and can be made from all kinds of materials and even converted from woven wraps.

This is me and my, then, 5month old kid in a Mei Tai at a professional education in Split. Babywearing is a great way to get on with ''business as usual''.

I had a few trough my babywearing years and even tho I gave most of my carriers away I still have one toddler size, Mei Tai, just in case some of the younger kids want to be carried.

Quality time with my eldest when I gave birth to the 3rd one. Babywearing is not just for babies.
