On kebab and enthusiasm

I've been running around doctor's offices these days (I wrote about my illness here: https://steemit.com/life/@big.mama/sick-leave) and doing check-ups and between that and teacher-parent meetings and sports practices and I often forget to eat. So after he picked me up from the doctor's office and me complaining how I lived the whole day just on coffee my husband suggested that we go for a Kebab.

I am the type of person who would spend ridiculous amounts on my kids and rabbits or on books but when it comes to clothes, stuff and even food for myself, giving that kuna (Croatian money) becomes so hard to do. But my husband insisted. ''Live a little'' he said and so for kebab we went. But not just any kind of kebab...we had crypto döner kebab.

If you don't know what that is... Turkish döner kebabs is a type of street food similar to gyros and shawarma. They are made from shavings of lamb or chicken that roasts on an upright rotating spit. Döner kebab pita bread sandwiches are popular take-out food throughout Europe. The kebab was great and what made it extra special was the fact that we paid for it with money we made on the steemit platform.

I've mentioned yesterday how my #1 new year resolution is to be a more patient parent, yell less and connect more. My #2 is definitely to post more regularly. One of the reasons lies in the crypto kebab. We didn't just buy food but paid sports practice for our two kids and art class for our eldest. We bought great books for their birthday that's coming up soon. Steemit means an extra job that I now feel I really have a chance at. A chance of making some little extra money.I won't get filthy rich but books, art and sports classes for kids and a crypto date with my man once in a while is more than I can dream of.

I haven't always been this excited about steeming. I already wrote about this, I became a steemian for my husband, not because I thought it was something I would do, let alone love to do. I remember when @moon32walker first told @alktoni and @dumar022 about it. When the three of them started with it cryptocurrencies were not half this popular. There were few folks involved in bitcoin but nobody around us, I included, understood or saw an opportunity in this world or on this platform. But those three, man, they didn't let it go. They worked so hard. They talked about it all the time. I know all the nights my husband spent arranging his lego's. And the work of @dumar022 speaks for itself. They do their research, they do networking, trading...they work hard. All three of them. And their persistence and work ethics inspired many of us to join. Their enthusiasm is virulent.

Part of my NYR number two is to do more networking. So if you know any awesome steemers I should check out and follow please link them in the comments or give me a nod to check you out. And because what one gives is what one gets I'm going to do a few recommendations for the steemers I know personally and admire greatly. I do mentions and shout-outs here and there but I hope this few lines on each of these fine men will inspire you to check them out. And I am sure if you check them out you will follow. Because they are that good.

@alktoni is the best man I know ever. He is a great storyteller and does great posts about vintage items and antiques. He also does wicked memes and has a great series of post about adventures of a group of badass legos.

@dumar022 is maybe my favorite steemer. He has great tips on blogging and networking and is keen on supporting newcomers. If you are brand new on the platform he is the man you should follow and learn from. He does lots of funny original posts.

@cutwitviky has many interests and mostly writes about war stuff. A guy with whom I can talk for hours.

@moon32walker is a big fish here. He does great reviews of games, movies, and series. Also a great source on cryptocurrencies.

@zija2022 is a really smart guy. He is a newcomer but knowing him, and how much he knows about a wide range of themes I expect great posts from him.

@schkure is a great dad and a really funny guy. Hard worker with high hopes. He is yet to shine to his fullest because he just started out but I think he will be a great ''why so serious'' addition to the community.

@stefandimic is another funny, hardworking guy with whom I had many great conversations in person. He is also a newcomer but knowing his whit and sharp mind he will surely do great.

In the end, for us, 90's kids, here is a video of Hanson brothers performing ''Mmmbop'' after 20 years:

kebab is very tasty eat. I recommend you to eat in Adana in Turkey. Ayran and kebab are inseparable. @big.mama

OOO yes!Ayran! It is great with an authentic Turkish kebab. I had it once, we had a Turkish restaurant nearby with the owner being from Turkey. But the real thing meat and vegetables grilled on spits over charcoal .
