Pain for Beauty

in motherhood •  7 years ago

Hello there, I will tell you a story about beauty that hurts. That's how I come up with my today's title.

My one athend half baby is look alike my eldest when he is at that age. Actually, since she was born she is like the reincarnation of his "Kuya". The moment I saw her, I am seeing my first born.

I have difficulty attaching photos from my own gallery. This one looks closer to her

Up to today, she is still mistaken as a boy. And whenever neighbors see them together, they taught they are both boys.

For month, I am into thinking for ear piercing. The fear is there that she might scratch her ears. Or, she might suffer allergy like I have gotten during my day.

Just 2 days ago, I decided to get her the first earring set.

Even the saleslady, mistaken her for a boy. They are a bit shock. At first they thought, I am buying for a gift for someone else.

During the first ear piercing, my baby got shocked, and unfortunately the gun stuck up. She cried loudly and long, and I'm in slight panick honestly.

When she see her ear with the decor, she smile and like it. She also said, "...anda" ( ganda in full, meaning beautiful)

It takes 10minutes before we resume to pierce the right ear. She cried again, because I had to fool her so we can finish install the ear rings as we had to buy food after.

Up to today upon monitoring, nothing is unusual. I had overcome my fears because they did not come true.

I am a working mom for 8 years. Everything about rearing child is new to me. It stresses me out, when they cry.

Social media is a great help. As I check other mom's shared experiences, I can say when I am still normal or over acting .

It's also a great feeling hearing from neighbors and from my husband that the earrings complemented her. I just ask the sales lady about birth stone for month of August.

Even my sisters where delighted that finally, my baby easily can be called a girl.
