A simple To-Do-List to achieve your goals, dreams and visions

in motivation •  7 years ago  (edited)

Each of us has goals, dreams and visions that we all want to achieve. Often, however, we are not focused enough and lose sight of them or simply forget them because they were just ideas in the head. In order to avoid this, I have two lists that help me keep track of my goals. I will show you, how to work with them to get your tasks done and achieve your dreams.
Remeber that you need a plan, because a goal without a plan is just a wish. Life is to short to wait for them to happen. Forge them yourselfes!

THE TO DO LIST

In this list you enter all the tasks you MUST complete within a short period of time. Homework, repairs, SteemIt-Posts or appointments, just to name a few examples.
Everything that has to be done at some point, usually at short notice, has to be done.
Whenever you think you don't have anything to do, look at this list and you'll notice that there's usually something better to do than lay down in bed and play a pointless game on your mobile phone or watch the whole day TV to pass the time.
Get used to writing down all the tasks you have to do there. So don't forget them, be more productive and you'll feel good every time you remove one of these tasks from the list. I promise you that. Your body will release some dopamine after each task to reward you.

List of Goals you want to achieve

This list is a list of medium and long-term goals. Think about what you want to achieve and write it down. Goals in sports, in private life, learning skills, no matter. Write down everything you want to achieve or learn in the coming months and years. Also set intermediate goals. Short term goals are motivating. Long term goals provide a vision. You also put your visions such as Financial Independence on this list. Take this list and hang it up somewhere where you can see it every day. Mine's hanging next to my screen at my workdesk. So you will always have your goal in mind! You look at them several times a day and say to yourselve,"I will achieve each of these goals!" Achieving these goals bit by bit will make you happier than anything else and will make you feel that you can accomplish everything you do. And you can!

That sounds very simple and it is. Two slips of paper and some ink. That's all you need to keep track of your goals. It will also change your personality and you will be result oriented. It will satisfy you. Think about what you want, write it down and you can start chasing your dreams. Stop wishing. Start Doing! No Excuses!

so true until and unless we divide our goals to long term and short term we can never be sure what needs more time and consistency is a must....evaluating our goals helps us to achieve in time expected....great work

Thank you. I appreciate it.

you are welcome and keep the good work high

This post is so useful! I started making "to do lists" a few months ago and I'm trying to do it daily. It really works! It's amazing how we can train our brains to be more productive just doing this list every day. It really helps me to achieve my goals and to avoid procrastination.

Yes, it is fulfilling its purpose and makes you way more productive. It works pretty well for me. The list is always within reach and as soon as I think of something, I write it down. If the list has too many key points at some point in time, you know that you should start to work through some of these points. You remain productive and when you have completed the tasks, you feel rightfully happy and successful.

Thank you for your reply ;-)

This was very interesting. I've heard many times about the way how to set up goals but here you presented the way for short term and a long term. I like that. I think that sepparating goals from those for short run and a long run gives us more clarity. Awesome post.

Thank you. It depends of your goals. I have a few goals I will reach maybe in 2 or 3 years. It may be kinda frustrating for many people if they just try to catch these goals far far away in the future but don't get other things done. They will for sure loose motivation because motivation is also just a state of mind you need to feed with success or achievements.
