WHAT SEEK YOU?

He kept sighing and turning from one corner of the bed to another. He opened his eyes and saw the number of people gathered around him, praying for his recovery,at that moment, he remembered once more that his in a hospital bed not the comfort of his king size mattress .

"All is vanity upon vanity ." He murmured. He managed to say a short prayer before giving up the ghost that faithful day.

I do remember him very well. He was a man of integrity who took his business seriously. I do also remember when he had nothing. He loved God and was fervent and committed in serving Him till the money started coming. He was fervent and committed till things started turning out too good and then,he hardly remembers to pray.

He stopped attending church with the excuse that his business is taking much of his time and that " God will understand ". He stopped getting involved in the things of the Lord as he used to. He stopped been committed. Does he even pray? How can when his business means more than anything to him. He made the money he had always dreamed of. He had different cars, built different houses, travelled anywhere and anytime and had the good life he had always wanted. He was living perfectly till he was diagnosed of a strange disease. He travelled round the world seeking for a cure but it was infertile. All the wealth he made was disposed on his health but yet all was infertile till he gave up the ghost that day.

I want to remind us something this morning. Something that we may have forgotten or have refused to give attention to. In as much as we don't like to talk about it but it's good we have a moment of reminisce. In as much as we are also busy seeking the things of life, also remember to seek God's business too. We are not here to seek for the things of life but for the business of He who created us and placed us here because all the things of life we seek won't take us anywhere. It ends here on earth. They are all vanity.

Mattew 6:33 says," Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you."

Now the question is,"What seek you?" What are you seeking? Many people are busy seeking other things and that's why they keep complaining about everything in life. God who asked us to seek Him first knew we have needs. He knew that we need the "other things" but He said that the surest way to get "all these things " is to seek Him first. But the society has taught us to seek other things first.

It's good to make money and enjoy the life God has blessed you with but in doing so,Please don't forget to seek His business too which is winning souls for Him. In as much as we are busy chasing after the things of life, also be busy to chase after His kingdom because that's what matter most. We don't need believers who doesn't act as one. Don't be ashamed to talk about Jesus. If you can't talk about Him in public, Please don't come to church and be lifting up your "holy hands" in worship.

Anywhere you are, stand up for Him. You are an Ambassador for Christ so represent Him very well. I don't mind loosing things or friends because of Him. I'm not here to please people but to do His business. So in as much as you are seeking for other things, please seek Him first!
