HARD WORK AND CONSISTENCY! Nikki did 100 burpees for a whole year straight and lost 90 pounds, Changed her life permanent.

She changed her life, permanently.

It took a year to complete the challenge. But the change only took an instant. It was a decision that launched a thousand actions.

My wife Nikki has gained weight during pregnancies and had a terrible string of three miscarriages that followed. She had gained weight and she didn't recognize herself.  To make matters worse, she owned a bootcamp gym with me and was the trainer to hundreds of people.

She cried her way through workouts. She was embarrassed to give advice when she didn't "look the part".  She tried to eat healthy and was doing all the hard workouts, but her weight wasn't budging. She was later diagnosed with Hashimotos which effects the thyroid. She spent a lot of time researching ways to help herself. She cut out foods that caused inflammation for her, dairy, soy, eggs, pork, nightshades, gluten, and several more.  she was put on the lowest dose of thyroid medication. This was very difficult on top of everything else she was feeling because she felt guilty loosing 3 babies because she thought if she would of found out earlier they might be alive.

She didn't want to participate in life like she used to. She didn't like the way she presented herself to the world. I thought she was as beautiful as ever, I just wanted her to be happy.

She decided to sign us up for a Spartan race. That was the decision. She wanted something hard to train for that she could conquer.  To get in shape for the race, she would do 100 burpees a day for 100 days straight. The 10,000 burpee challenge. It gets you in amazing condition, but it comes with the price of sweat and exhaustion.

If you miss a day, you do 200 burpees. Every day has to have at least 100 burpees. On top of that, she would do our regular bootcamp workouts too. And those workouts were brutal!

After she completed the burpees for 100 days, she kept going. And going. She did 100 burpees for a year straight. Straight up, Just did work. Every damn day for  year.  Sick or felling great. She showed up and did the deed.

She lost 90 pounds in the process. We have written a book about her burpee adventure that has inspired thousands of people doing burpees all over the globe.

This is what she said about doing 100 burpees everyday for a year -

"I just wanted to be more than my illness, more myself. I wanted to find me—that fighter, that phoenix rising out of the ashes of pain, fear, and sorrow. Burpees did this for me. I don’t know why, and I don’t know how, but I found someone who wanted her life back, who wanted to feel strong. So I kept going with the burpees after I hit 10,000. Why? Because, I could. I did a hundred a day for one whole year.  "

It's been 4 years since she did the burpees and she has kept off the weight and coaches others on how to kick ass.

This video is her story. It's inspirational whether you like burpees, hate them, or s]don't know what a burpee is.

She kicks ass and has inspired thousands to do the same! I am proud to call her my wife!

We hope it inspires you to kick ass too.

Great job Nikki! I must admit I hate doing even 10 burpees but I might have to get down suffer them after seeing and listening to the effect they've had on you, bravo!

Thanks so much! They've given me a warrior spirit I can "go to" when I need to.

Sounds good to have that bit extra in the locker when you need it. I'm going to have a go at 100 after work today! (In batches of 20 I expect!)

That's great! The standard way we do them is 10 sets of 10 reps.
But there's all sorts of way to do them.
Sets of 20 get brutal!

you can try and do 10 every minute on the minute. This gets rough!

Do a giant set of 40, rest a few minutes, set of 30 , rest, set of 20 and then set of 10!

You can go for a 1 or two mile run and hit 10 burpees along the way 10 times...talk about a hard run!!!
