WHO IS A LEADER?

Welcome back reader! Today I will be discussing a subject that isn’t really new to the occupants of earth in the 21st century. Most of us will agree with me that one of the greatest needs in our world today is that of leadership.
And the irony of the statement above is that, not one nation in the world today operates in a state of anarchy. We have various systems of government all around our world with millions of individuals operating in one office or the other.

The source of that irony is in the fact that we have a conventional definition that won’t hold our fast changing world. We happen to be featuring in the history of time with the greatest challenges ever known to man and we expect leaders to provide answers to various questions that even them are quietly asking.

A leader, as we have all been told is a person who leads others and the concept ‘lead’ means to give instructions and make people do things. We make our leaders through vote, some are so lucky to even become leaders through the reason of birth. A few leads while the others follow, that has been the order of our world.

… the world is filled with leaders yet we still lack a lot of leaders.

The statement above is true because our definition of a leader is wrong. A real leader is someone who shows others the way and gives them a reason to follow through the means of inspiration. Leaders like we have been told are individuals who coordinate others and make them serve and do things for them but the truth is a leader is an individual that have figured a whole new measure of truth and then called others to come shine in the light of that truth.

A leader isn’t someone who controls or directs people, a leader is someone who directs his life and make the impact of that direction an influence on people through inspirations.
A leader is a servant, unlike the conventional definition that puts a leader at the top of societal pyramid, a leader really is at the bottom of the pyramid, he bears and never makes himself a burden to people, with leadership comes great responsibilities. Our world needs to redefine it's concept of leadership so the so-called leaders or the ones aspiring to be would easily know what they are going in for.
Most do not understand the fact that what makes a leader is far beyond votes and elections or the voice of some god! We’ve seen great leaders in history that were never voted in, they became leaders because they are leaders, because something inside them makes them worth being called a leader.

The misconception of leadership in our world today has done more harm than good.

leaders don’t lead anymore, they fail to realize that the core of a leaders' heart is not only to show others the way, but also to thread that path himself.

• A leader sees far ahead and inspirers followers to come along.
• A leader never manipulates through fear or threats.
• A leader is a protector and a source of hope.
• A leader is one who understands that life doesn’t begin and end with him.
• A leader knows he has a responsibility to hand down the baton someday, so he makes room for the one who is to come after him.

Considering the points above, can you boldly say that you are a leader?
