Would you be willing to be a colonized?

I know that this text may bother you and you will not complete reading it, but I do not criticize you, but I just want to send you this message that may make you comfortable, happy and reconciled with yourself after reading and working on it.

I am not an idealist or an angel. We are human beings who we are not free of defects, but there is a difference between each and every person in the awareness of his defects and the attempt to get rid of them, and of course I talk about non-physical behavior.

Be you and not be other than you:

We may encounter someone on the ground or on the big screen or small screen or even by default, and after a while we find ourselves trying to imitate him for many reasons, perhaps because he is famous or has money, we believe that if we act like him, we will have the same thing

Tell me dear, would you be willing to be a colonized?

Sure, no, but when you imitate other people you are colonized and follow them, and you are a copy of them and do not belong to yourself, but you will be their property, you will live for them and not yourself, and you will never rest if you choose to draw a picture contrary to you, know that no one will relate to you but to the image that you imitate , and you will suffer and lose many of your social relationships, because you will not be able to continue acting, which will someday disappear like paint, and will surprise the other person who did not know before

Know that you are unique in your smile, behavior, behavior, movements and your understanding, your body and personality, and anything related to you, so act spontaneously and on your naturally, provided that others are respected, what is less is personal freedom, do not be cowardly afraid of their comments or outlook, surely two of them: Someone he likes you and he may become a loyal friend of yours, and another who does not have the courage to reconcile himself , and he starts by criticizing you, in fact he is envious.

Now because of the rather provocative title I have to inject that there is a lot of nuance that is lost here.

Imitation is not necessarily bad and most certainly not a form of colonisation of a person. Imitation is good in the sense that you can learn from the best. In fact this is what many aspiring artists does, they imitate the masters not necessarily to become them but to learn from them.

I would agree that when the imitation becomes an obsession and you start to derive the majority of your meaning in life from being like someone else it becomes a problem. This is perhaps when you could say that you are colonised intellectually and have an unhealthy obsession.

Being like other people is not bad, it can be a really good thing and offer a security of the group. However the underlying message of being yourself is good. On the contrary you also have to be yourself with other people to find yourself comfortable in your surroundings as well and sometimes that means you have to imitate others to varying degrees.
