Recently, I met a friend who eloquently spoke on comfortability as the apex of man's satisfaction.
An argument generated and another friend of mine contributed that comfortability is just an asset of satisfaction and the beginning of the need to courageously grow happily and having a strong believe of expectations.
What makes you comfortable?
It is obvious that to some people, having a career and balanced income earning is comfortability.
Some others, creating an independent enterprise that will always generate funds for them and their unborn children is comfortability.
A lot of contributions arose on this and this led us to the concept of satisfaction being very different from comfortability.
It is common to relate the word contentment with comfortability and this on its own buttresses the fact that contentment is not necessarily 'this is the best' but 'I can move along with this'.
Satisfaction is fulfillment, I have gotten what I wanted.
Comfortability is I am OK where I am but there could be need for more.
Although sometimes we use these words interchangeably but there's more to the usage.
Some say satisfaction must be attained before comfortability.
While the real sense is that, comfortability is a fragment of satisfaction(a situation that can be managed).
Mostly the need to have a comfortable life drives us crazy. But once this is gotten, there's a need for more;
- There's a need for being the best at where we are.
- There's a need for getting to the top of our success.
- There arise a need for building a structure that can never be destroyed.
- There arise the need of proving to others that you can leave your comfort zone to attain greater height.
And here goes the need for satisfaction!
Therefore, for one to be fully satisfied, one must leave one's comfort zone.
So, comfortability comes before satisfaction!
