Most people have heard the phrases “I become what I think” and “I think, therefore I am,” but few understand and integrate them.
Our beliefs underlie our ideas. Since childhood, we've subconsciously accepted many environmental and observational ideas. These choices were driven by fear... Fear of not being loved, suffering from rejection and abandonment...
Realising our thoughts—Unmasking our beliefs
So our beliefs shape our thinking and life. It's crucial to recognise our thoughts and their beliefs. Because most people are only 10-15% conscious of their thoughts, we must use our words, gestures, nutrition, sicknesses, and everything else in our physical reality to become aware of our beliefs.
Consider a young woman who thinks she's less gorgeous and smart than her sister. She may not realise this belief. To uncover it, she must be aware of her thoughts, such as when ready for an outing: is she trying to look prettier or have a better body?
Does she mistrust her attention-grabbing abilities? Does she believe others' compliments or think they're courteous or attempting to make her feel good?
Always, belief wins.
If this woman fails to become conscious of her views, she can do so by studying her diet: is she eating sweets to indulge, especially when she doubts and criticises herself? When she compares herself to her sister, does she eat more or less?
Undermining beliefs
What we think affects us.
Let us remember that our beliefs affect us even if we are unaware of them. For what? Because humans have three bodies: physical, emotional, and mental, and the mental has the most power. It gives our beliefs and thoughts vitality to sustain and shape our world. This is why the mind affects the other two dimensions so profoundly.
Most individuals don't realise that beliefs are stronger than actions. They think positive acts will get them what they want. Consider a woman who is kind, gentle, and helpful to her husband and children out of dread of abandonment. Despite her efforts, she is nonetheless driven by dread. So her fears will come true.
However, some ask how thinking about something terrible led to a favourable outcome. This means that if she says, "I'm afraid of not passing my exam" and deep down she wants to achieve and believes in her potential to succeed, your belief will win!
Nothing comes from beyond yourself.
A belief or desire creates every physical manifestation. The day humans grasp and accept responsibility, Earth will change drastically. After one person starts, thousands and millions more decide to live in the assurance of what they want rather than the terror of what they don't.
When will you live with certainty of who you are?
The key is to always question yourself if everything you think, do, feel, and say matches what you want in life or what you don't. Once we know the solution, we may take the required steps to get there.
