I've heard from beautiful women many times that they often feel low in their confidence. If we look into ourselves, who does not know the feeling when someone in on our perceived beauty scale looks better than us and it makes us feel uncomfortable?
As a child we have everything. We see in what we believe in, we believe in miracles, in possibilities, we are full of courage and self-confidence. Then parents, grandparents, our environment, our friends, our teachers, and society will modify this reality. Often to an extent when we stop believing. So we began to create limiting beliefs...
"Are you not afraid of ...?"
"But what if ...?"
"It cannot be done."
"I wouldn't do it."
"It's easy for others."
"What science can't prove, it doesn't exist."
"Everyone says it, so it's true."
... etc.
Full of fear, insecurities, and boundaries...
Today I'm not looking for universal evidence for almost anything because the only truth that matters to me is mine. If something exists, works, helps and does not hurt anyone, then it is true in my world.
The head is responsible for a lot of limitations. This is taken over by the heart because we believe that others are more beautiful, they are better and more skilled. But if in my heart I believe that I can do it, it is possible, I'm not afraid, and I'm as good as others, then my head will soon follow my heart.
Beauty is relative. There are some industries that try to determine what it means to be beautiful in the world. Do I have to believe this because they said so? Do I let others shape my value system? Of course not. If I don't see myself as beautiful as others, then my head and my heart have a problem, but the most beautiful things are not materialized.
Self-confidence, ambitions, good examples, unconditional love, forgiveness, curiosity, courage, balance, calmness ... we all have the ability to reach them. I started by abandoning the old moral "wisdom" I grew up listening to. One goes like this: Believing happens in a church. Bullshit. It happens in my heart, in others, in the world and in myself.
No other post which i read today is as best as this. You touched this subject so gently and wisely. Yes beauty is relative to person to person. What beauty standards in one part of world may be completely opposite on other side of world. This beauty is vanishes as time goes. Beauty is a not a thing which we have to pride on that. Instead self confidence, self esteem, inner peace, spirituality and our experiences grows with time.
Thank you my new friend.
