Time and again I keep reading about so many stories of people with physical disabilities doing things which even people with 100% full physical capacity also cannot think of doing it and it only makes me wonder what drives them and from where do they get all the will power, to achieve these goals in life. During my EBC trek my guide would tell me many such stories. Lately I heard of a 30-year-old Indian who is a triple amputee completed the Everest base camp trek, this is so phenomenal. The also another famous person Max Stainton, who has cerebral palsy also did the base camp trek. So much of will power these people have and I have huge respect for them.
On one side there are these people, who with their challenges still want to achieve goals defying all limitations of their physical body and then there are so many people out there who with their full physical capacity do not even want to make effort of regular physical fitness routines giving all the possible reasons to not do it. People make their age as an excuse to not do some of the physical activities but the fact is that age is just a excuse, the real thing is that the mind is not wanting to do it.
Yes, all limitations of not doing any activity comes just from the mind, when our mind starts thinking and believing that we cannot do it then we cannot do it for sure and when we are determined to do something then we start turning all the obstacles into opportunities and make it happen. Everything is a result of our thoughts and beliefs. Personally between me and my hubby also we have this conflict, he has too many ifs and buts whereas when I want to do something then it is just do it, then there are no ifs and buts. These are excuses to not do it which we try to showcase in a way that suits us.
I heard this very beautiful talk of a spiritual guru. When you want to do something, we keep saying I need to do it. Sometimes our mind is in doubt and not ready to do it and we keep procrastinating, in such a case we must keep saying to our self, I want to do it, I love to do it. That's how our mind gets programmed to get into action.
