Dear Minnow (part 36): NAIRADADDY'S 4C FORMULAR TO SUCCESS ON STEEMIT...

in motivation •  7 years ago

Dear Minnow,

I appreciate you all that have reached out to me for keys to success on steemit. I have written many articles that will help you but I will distill all of them into a simple formular that anyone anywhere can use at anytime to achieve the same level of success I achieved. It will be in the form of Q & A.

@dedicatedguy's QUESTION:

Given the fact you have been so successful in such a short time I would like to ask you a question.
For a new user and minnow, do you recommend to start posting actively, or to leave that for later and just make comments?
What did you do when you were new? (Only 2 months ago hahah but still...)

I have had some other people asking me similar questions. They include @casweeney, @mislam, @georgegodwin, @deeclown, @onyemacourage etcz

My ANSWER:

Lolx...scroll down my timeline to see what I did 2 months ago. I have always been writing good quality content from Day 1 till now. Initially, I earned next to nothing. If you check my timeline you will see $0.00 there. Lolx. But I never gave up.

Instead of sulking and dropping the pen, I kept doing what I was doing. I kept reading more. I kept researching about this platform. And I kept talking about what I found. Infact, the quality was even improving with time because I learned markdown editing etc. I learned to use quality images that has the creative commons tag. I learned to make useful posts and say my mind.

You know success is a habit. The more you do, the more likely you will do better next time. You keep going uphill against all the factors that militate against success. People will try to discourage you with negativity. The onus is on you to remain positive and tell yourself that all the time and efforts you are putting are all worth it.

Don't just waste time and misfire on irrelevancies. You need to find your SUPER-POWERS. We all have one...that one thing that we can do so well that keep everyone in awe. It may be a skill, a talent, a lifestyle, an experience etcz. Just share a part of yourself with your Steemit audience so that they can share themselves with you too. ONLY YOUR SUPER-POWER can allow you get attention.

In my experience, I have found that you need to work on something for at least 30days before you begin to see success OR before it becomes a habit (whichever comes first). So don't do good stuff once and expect some magic to happen. Keep doing it over & over everyday till you break even. Don't stop whether it rains or suns. Don't make excuses. JUST DO IT.

So HERE's MY 4C Formular For STEEMIT SUCCESS:

  • Content: write quality stuff on your blog. If you make good comments and people come to your blog to see blank space; you just wasted the efforts.
  • Context: your content & comment should vary with the situation. That means you are not a spammer pasting the same thing for everyone. Read before replying.
  • Comments: Very vital for growth here. Make sure you read the post and leave a comment the person would never forget in life. That's how I made all my friends. Then you can get on discord to talk more. Join #AIR-CLINIC btw: https://discord.gg/rqded5m
  • Curation: Make sure to curate good content as well. Upvote them and you will be part of the 25% curation rewards. Not much if you have low SP but its good practice for when you finally "make it".

Cheers!

I remain me, my mouth & eye @nairadaddy aka SteemDaddy. My aim is to leave you better than I find you everyday.

You are welcome bro. Keep doing good. Cheers!

I couldnt agree more, especially with the curation aspect. Many are in the habit of begging for votes, with voting themselves.

Some people have sworn to cheat every system they come across in life. From church to schools to the lottery and Now steemit... Found a post some days back.. This dude was practically begging for sbd, with a crass selfie of him on the sickbed... 😃 it was hilarious, but sickening because he'd used nigeria as a tag.

Very lame excuses people make everyday just to get upvotes instead of just doing legitimate hardwork like others.

Spoiling 9ja name upandan. Lolx

Thanks for coming around bro. Vote begging...ahhh! Many still need to learn that it doesn't work. Cheers man!

Stay cool bro.

BTW, as part of the #hug-an-artist challenge this week, here's a warm #hug from all of us at the #Air-Clinic server on discord.

Lolx. So you now have a canned message you give to people for hugs-sake. Anyway, welldone. Cheers!

Specially tailored for that purpose.. 😎

Practise makes perfect and 30 days to form a habit. Good advice to follow Dr. George! Good content and curating is important. Engagement I think is more important if you want to succeed on this platform.

Engagement! The golden formular for success on Steemit & in life... Cheers dear!

Did you just speak into someone's heart? You sure did. Thank you so much for these tips and words of encouragement. You are the best.

I almost gave up after a few weeks but having people like you here teaching, motivating and pushing us is enough success

This type of huge achievement in only 2 months is really extra ordinary. You are a role model doctor. Way to go!
