People often talk about their vacations. It can be hard to find the right mix between weekend trips and summer vacations.

Just like how important it is to take breaks during the job, how often you have long weekends and vacations is also very important. Actually, in today's busy world, it's very important to take breaks to relax, recharge, and put your mental health first.

As opposed to what most people think, it would be better to plan several long weekends throughout the year instead of one long trip to a faraway place during leisure time. As an example, summer is a great time to do many things.

Newsweek released a study that shows how vacations are good for our physical and mental health as well as our work performance. Another interesting finding from this study is that longer weekends may make it more likely for people to get a pay rise or move up in their careers. That's a good enough reason to make self-care a priority more often, right?

One surprising thing is that being away for a long time can cause a lot of stress for some people. Without a doubt, the idea of giving up our daily lives to explore the charming European streets of the country that captures our mind is very exciting, but there may also be some worries. We're talking about a lot of different things, like how to plan the trip, deal with gaps, adjust to new situations, and welcome change.

The Pew Research Centre polled 5,000 American workers in 2023 and found that some employees can become stressed when they are away from the office for long periods of time. For example, almost half of the people who participated were worried about getting behind at work, while only a small portion were worried about losing their job.

Still, these worries shouldn't affect your decision about whether or not to take a trip. Taking time off is important for your mental health and for growing as a person and in your career.

For some, planning the schedule can be hard and stressful, but in the end, it leads to an amazing and worthwhile experience. It's important to accept and embrace these worries, letting yourself fully feel them. This will help you start to value the new chances that are coming your way.
