Preparation is Key!

I learnt an amazing truth about life when we were about to fry garri. The woman who we called to fry the garri asked me to bring sand and water. She mixed it into mud and started plastering the stones (blocks) she had arranged to put the frying pan for garri (agbada). She neatly did it, plastering it as if she was into masonry work. I asked her why she was plastering the stones and she said that the blocks have space in between and that without those sides covered, it will become outlets for smoke which will make it uncomfortable to her when she is frying the garri.

She said that the plaster also prevents the heat that would normally come from the fire. And with this she said she is sure of a hitch free frying section. And after this, she had a hitch free frying section. What i learnt from this is that, preparation is vital to a successful endeavour. Without preparation, you are bound for failures. Just like the saying "he who fails to plan, plans to fail", we cannot do without making preparation even to the minute details.

Preparation aborts any chance for accident. For example, if she hadnt taking the time to do everything well before starting, maybe there would have been an accident of any kind that may arise due to negligence. Negligence can cause more accident than lack of expertise could.

Preparation saves you time and energy that would have been expended on delaying you from reaching your goals on time.

We must never relegate preparation to the bottom if we must succeed in anything we are doing.
