I'm going to tell you a story about a group of kids who found themselves in the most unusual situation. You see, they were left behind on their school trip and now have no way out.
They all walked to the bus station as instructed, but when they arrived there was no sign of any buses anywhere.
Suddenly, an old man came by and offered them a ride to the next town over... but they would have to pay. The kids, who couldn't afford the ride, simply laughed off the stranger's offer and moved on.
Half an hour later, the school bus came by with everyone who had left previously waving happily out of its windows.
A few minutes after that, another old man walked up to them holding a miniature bus in his hand. He looked at the kids, he looked at the tiny bus, and then he laughed.
He said that if they were to climb inside they would be small enough to ride free of charge!
The kids accepted this offer with raised eyebrows, opened up all the doors, and began climbing into their new vehicle when suddenly an old woman walked up to them and offered a ride.
The kids looked at the old woman, they looked at the old man, and then they laughed.
They said that if she wanted to give them a ride she would have to match all the conditions of their previous offer: free of charge and no catch! This made her angry; she called them rude names and turned around to walk away.
Then the kids boarded their tiny bus with a smile and set off for the next town over.
A few minutes into their journey, they noticed that there was a new person coming towards them from behind! It was a little girl with a puppy in her hands!!
By now you're probably thinking, "How are they going to fit a little girl with her dog into that tiny bus!?" Well, I'm not going to tell you anything else except this: You can't judge a book by its cover.
The moral of the story
The moral of the story is that things aren't always what they seem to be. You have to stop judging a person or situation by their appearance.
