How to Quit Complaining - The Realities People End Up With When They Quit Complaining

Quit complaining. If you complain too much, it will eat away at your self-confidence and self-esteem. Even if you constantly argue that you're the happiest individual in the world, sometimes you still complain about little things. Sometimes complain without realizing it, yet never is it constructive. In this e-book, the author reveals her own personal story when she finally decided to break this habit and embark upon a truly amazing journey to quit complaining forever.

When most people start complaining about something, it's usually because they're frustrated about a specific situation. It could be about an argument with a loved one, or a setback at work. It may also be because of a problem with their health, or a fear of public speaking. The root cause of all this is that we attach negative meaning to our complaining and dislike the situations we're unhappy about. Instead of seeing an issue in a positive light, we'll tend to look at it in a more pessimistic way.

This habit can prevent us from enjoying life. Instead of appreciating everything we have, we dwell on our complaints. When we get caught up in our misery, we get negative and pessimistic about even the smallest things. Then we don't enjoy life, and we get stuck in a rut. By quitting this useless habit, we can go back to living with the joy of being alive instead of dwelling on our problems.

To quit complaining, all you need to do is get yourself thinking differently. Instead of seeing a situation as good or bad, see it in a different way. For instance, if you notice that you're unhappy about having to pay a high fee for a car repair job, instead of focusing on the fee itself, focus on the fact that it's not cheap to fix that car. You'll soon notice that your mind doesn't focus on the fee anymore and instead starts to focus on the fact that you can't afford the repair, or on the fact that you have to pay the extra fee anyway.

If you'd like to learn how to quit complaining, all you have to do is change your way of thinking. Instead of focusing on the bad situation, or the fact that someone else caused you to be unhappy, focus on the solution. For instance, instead of thinking, "Why am I always late for work?" you could rename your statement to say, "I was just in a bad mood and got caught up in a silly office drama and ended up late for work."

A great way to change your focus is to let go of the entire habit of letting go. Whether you do this instantly or slowly, it's important to make a big effort to let go. Remind yourself often that there's nothing you can be angry at. Eventually, with enough practice, you'll find it much easier to let go of any negative thoughts, allowing you to focus on the positive aspects of life instead of those nasty feelings.

Another way how to quit complaining is to acknowledge the fact that it's OK to make mistakes. Sometimes we all fall victim to bad habits, and the key is not to allow yourself to fall victim to them. Letting yourself feel bad because you screwed up, or made a mistake is a powerful method to letting go. Instead of focusing on the fact that you were wrong, focus on the fact that you were able to overcome the problem and move forward. This can help you get your head around the fact that if only you'd spend more time focused on overcoming your bad habits, then you'd never have made such a huge mistake.

Lastly, realize that non-complainers accept their situations. Although non-complainers are aware that they're not doing anything to change the situation, many are so consumed with the fact that they're not doing anything to change it that they fall into the trap of thinking that they can change the situation. They don't realize that by continuing to act in a manner that they perceive as unacceptable, they're setting themselves up for even more conflict. By recognizing that they accept their current situation, they will be better equipped to work towards changing it and stopping the habit of complaining.
