When we expect something, we prepare for it. We anticipate all the possible outcomes of the situation and the things that might go wrong.
Unfortunately, expectations rarely materialize the way we plan them. When you fail to prepare for the unexpected, the outcome is rarely anything close to what you'd hoped for.
In fact, I'd say that the majority of the time you end up getting more than you expected. This is why we never plan anything.
In the event that you do expect something, prepare for every eventuality. For example, if you plan on having someone pick you up from the airport, don't leave it to the last minute. If you have an important meeting, take some time to prepare beforehand.
Expectation is the root of anxiety, fear and stress. It is something that happens to us all the time without our awareness. Don't worry about whether you are prepared or not - instead, just prepare for anything that might come your way.
