I can't speak for everyone but let me tell you whom I will appoint.
The most enthusiastic person! Every single time!
Not the person that is enthusiastic about every little thing. That is just weird. I'm talking about the person that convinces me that he or she is enthusiastic about the job.
Enthusiasm is contagious and the best thing a person can bring to any job. Your enthusiasm will open doors for you and impact on people's response to you. Here is a couple of points regarding enthusiasm.
The word 'enthusiasm' come from old Greek and means 'in god'. The ancient Greeks looked at an enthusiastic person and concluded that is what it looked like to be filled with god.
These Greeks were not Christians. This was before Jesus' life, death and resurrection and they may have had a very different understanding of God than what I do. But don't you agree that a person filled with enthusiasm has a divine quality? It just seems that an enthusiastic person is the best possible version of themselves. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but can a person look better than when they are shining with enthusiasm?
I may not know you, but I can tell you this about yourself. You are the best you when you focus on the things that evoke the greatest passion in your heart. It is mostly Confucius that is credited with the following saying.
Can I ask, What are you most passionate about? It is not just one thing but a list of things. How much of your time and energy are you devoting to these things?

I pray for you that your life will be filled with enthusiasm. So much so, that people will see something divine in you when your eyes light up with enthusiasm. And I pray that you will find your way to spending the majority of your time on the things that light you up. That people will respond to your enthusiasm and that doors will open and opportunities are sent your way as a result.

I simply will agree with you @reonlouw, a life without enthusiasm is more like a living dead. Being an enthusiast reflects on others so your reason of giving the job to the enthusiastics person will have a positive impact on the working environment for you.
And this can be related to why we are on steemit, is it a platform where we come to pass time? Or we see a future that will alleviate financial difficulties in some ways and in the process connect with amazing people around the world?

Doing what one likes actually relieves one of the stress, dangers that could come along the task..
As one keeps going, he gets better in that field and find better ways in being productive and scaling the hurdles as well.

Life without a little spark would be dreary, why would you ever bring a person into your life who does not reflect enthusiasm.
We are not all the same, enthusiasm being given tedious tasks to complete, paid a minimal earnings, perhaps looking at both sides of the coin does the trick.
Teach the person how to find a way through the quagmire perhaps the enthusiasm is hidden.
I look to nature and find plenty to enthuse about in life.
