Being a painter at a young age is a miracle for this artist. Mohammad Qureirai from Gaza is struggling to paint in the midst of his country's war with Israel. Many who consider learning art is a luxury. His own neighbor says drawing can not make money.

But he was supported by his family to keep painting. Mohammad comes from a middle-class family, five brothers and has three sisters. His oldest brother Malek was very happy with Mohammad's talent. "He has not taught and sketched very well," he said.

Throughout his painting career, Mohammad has attended nine joint and solo exhibitions in the Gaza Strip. He also participated in an exhibition in Beirut held by the Lebanese Palestinian Embassy. Unfortunately two years ago when he was invited to exhibit to South Africa, Mohammad was banned from traveling by Israel.

Israel refused permission to travel to Bethlehem. At that time, Mohammad's plan would come to create a mural of peace through the perspective of children. In addition to Mohammad, there are dozens of other artists invited to create a mural.

"My work also should not be sent so it should be photographed and scanned and displayed, that's the only way," Mohammad said.

To increase his painting ability, he taught himself from the youtube site. With the help of Malek he always watches and gets the latest methods especially in three-dimensional paintings.

"From there I found new ideas to paint on canvas," he said. However, to buy painting equipment such as canvas, paint, brushes and others need a fairly large fund and no sponsorship from official institutions.

"Every day I paint and need a lot of canvas, the price is expensive here because it is still a luxury and I work around it with a sketch paper," said the artist who idolized Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso.
