Are you more likely to be kind? Could you explain what you meant by "being/not-being"?
Being helpful means giving without counting or going above and beyond what is expected. It also helps others. Most people agree that being generous means giving gifts, money, time, advice, or actively helping charity work. Could these actions come from wanting to be kind, get love and praise for being a good person, or get something in return?
I've met people who thought that the fact that they always helped others and gave gifts to their loved ones showed that they were generous. The people they were kind to turned down their offers to help, which made these people sad. They were not happy.
These situations can help you figure out how generous someone is. You've given someone a gift every year for years, but they still don't remember your birthday. What would you do? Could you please not give them to him?
Imagine giving a lot of your time to help a friend who is having a hard time. Even though you were busy, you tried to make time for him. Your friend politely tells you she can't do what you ask because she is busy. Could you say something about this?
If you want to know if you have giving standards, these questions can help. Our hopes and dreams can keep us from giving our all sometimes. We'd rather make a trade instead. When you want feedback, be clear in your communication and get to know the other person.
When giving a gift, expectations are fine as long as everyone knows about them. A woman I know cleans a friend's house for free. This is because the friend has two kids, works full-time, and has trouble doing things around the house.
In exchange, this mum cooks for her friend who hates cooking. A answer is good for everyone. That might not mean they are generous. The deal they made is good and meets their needs.
Giving because you want to enjoy it is what giving is all about. It's important to realise that your own pleasure may not match others'. This could happen. Instead of being upset, you could talk to the other person to find out what makes them happy.
People who like to give more than receive may have a different view of kindness. Giving and getting go together. Giving and getting go hand in hand. When someone likes to give, they notice how happy other people are when they give.
If you keep giving in this way, you will be even more generous. When you study the Universe, keep in mind that a lot of people believe in divine justice. Some people think that the Universe gives us what we need, so we might not need to expect anything. It's important to focus on the joy of giving rather than the rewards.
