How does scarcity affect consumer Behaviour?

Anger is a primordial emotion. This is a physiological stress response produced by perceived threat. It can also motivate an organism to achieve a goal. This drug increases noradrenaline and blood pressure. It supports goal-directed action, counterbalances vulnerability, and maintains personal constancy. It also does the following.

Anger can help recover individuality and overcome problems. It's an important step towards gaining self-control. It can cause trouble, though. It might be directed at others, one's accomplishments, or one's self-concept. Recognizing and respecting others' opinions and adhering to ethical and societal standards can help control healthy anger.

Irritation, rage, and competitiveness are three types of anger. It's important to distinguish these three types and understand their connotations. Anger is a key emotion in the fight-or-flight response. It's often accompanied with scowls and frowns. (Example:) (Example:) Counterproductive and antisocial anger expressions exist.

Shah and colleagues showed wrath is linked to a scarcity perspective. People with a scarcity mindset believe their basic resources are limited. They feel hatred, envy, and guilt, and their future may seem bleak. According to the study, individuals who felt shortage focused more on scarcity-related information and less on other needs. They also have decreased cognitive performance and increased stress hormones.

If channelled properly, rage can resolve interpersonal conflicts. Misdirected anger can lead to antisocial behaviour. It's important to grasp rage's many roles and how to handle it.

When resources are few, studies show that organisms focus on their needs and take on more than they need. People with a scarcity mindset prefer to prioritise their most important money worries. They fear limited resources. They may borrow money without considering the consequences. These types of behaviour are costly, and a scarcity mindset can lead to debt cycles.

Zhao and Tomm (2017) found that scarcity can lead to ignoring useful information. They randomly assigned participants a modest or high food budget. Also, visual attention was measured. Food-scarce participants focused more on food-related information than others. They also found that people with more food options completed a task faster.
