Bible motivational thought: Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Proverbs 2:2

The Book of Proverbs attributed to King Solomon is most likely a compilation of the wisdom of the ancient world, a wisdom highly valued by the people of Israel and complementary to the law of Moses; because both wisdom and law have their basis and support in the spiritual gift of fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion, equanimity, and stability) as explained in Ecclesiastes 12:13 and Proverbs 9:10. In other words, the Law of Moses is essentially the crowning of the eternal wisdom of God.
King Solomon began his Book of Proverbs as a father teaching his beloved children, and with simple words he explained the importance of acquiring wisdom, discernment, and understanding; the spiritual gifts that are born with the perfection of the fear of God in the heart of man. Salomon taught with intelligence that these gifts that always are together and define the integrity of man are the true hidden treasure that the sensible man must discover.
With these motivational words, King Solomon exposed his thought about this spiritual truth:
"My child, listen to what I say,
and treasure my commands.
Tune your ears to wisdom,
and concentrate on understanding.
Cry out for insight,
and ask for understanding.
Search for them as you would for silver;
seek them like hidden treasures" Proverbs 2:1-4.
Because wisdom, continued King Solomon, is wonderful, beautiful, it is common sense in decision making, that is, precision and accuracy, and also a shield, that is, spiritual protection for those who live her faithfully:
"He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him" Proverbs 2:7-8.
The Bible with these teachings seeks to transmit to man the basis for success, excellence, and well-being in life, but the freedom to choose is in men.
