The Yamaha TZR250 was a street-legal 250cc two-stroke sports Bike Produced By Japanese Motorcycle Manufacturer Yamaha Between 1986 and 1996
The TZR250 was a natural replacement for the popular Yamaha RD250 series and was subsequently evolved over three generations, the 2AW/2XW/1KT/2MA/2XT, the 3MA, and 3XV. Each generation was loosely based on the iteration of TZ250 Yamaha was producing at the time. All variants were powered by liquid-cooled, direct crankcase reed-valve-inducted two cylinder two strokes of 249cc capacity although engine layout was developed from that of a parallel-twin to a 90° V-twin with a rather unique reverse-cylinder layout employed in the interim. All generations utilised the YPVS Yamaha Power Valve System.
