It seems that Gelen Helen claimed a few riders at the weekend, anyone watching the second 450 moto would have seen yellow flags being waved and some wheels on the ground. There were flags thrown over the hump in the turn known as Talladega which indicates to everyone that a rider is down and they need to ride through on the floor and cautiously while they are attended to.
The rider in question was H.E.P. Motorsports Suzuki rider Kyle Cunningham who made a mistake and was thrown from the bike and landed pretty hard. The Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit were on the scene very quickly to tend to the rider and he exited the track on the medical mule with a backboard.
Luckily the injuries were superficial and he did not suffer anything serious other than a few knocks and bruses. This was partly due to the frantic efforts from the medical crew busting a gut to get to him as fast as possible and off the track.

"Was feeling great today at GH! Finished 8th first Moto and was trying to do it again second Moto until I took a pretty good digger that ended my day. Thank you to all the people that help me go racing every weekend, we will be back in no time😎🤘🏻"
After such a good first moto i am glad he will be fit to return as soon as possible. The only set back is that he will now have to support the 018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship on his own. The California-based H.E.P. Motorsports Suzuki deal with Cunningham was only for the local races so he will need to make sure he is on his A game when he is self funding his racing. Good luck mate and heal up :)
