It's been a year of mega ups and mega downs for Jason Anderson. After winning the Monster Energy Supercross 2018 title, his first ever, he suffered a crash with another rider during a practice session at Glen Helen and hurt his foot badly. Things ook set to turn around though as the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team manager, Bobby Hewitt has given him the all clear to saddle up this weekend at Budds Creek if he feels good to ride.
Bobby Hewitt
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team manager
"Currently, myself and the staff believe Jason will be back on the starting line at the AMA Outdoor Nationals this weekend. Obviously, my first priority is Jason's safety! It is very important to both Jason and I that we are representing both Rockstar Husqvarna Factory Racing and all of our sponsors at the highest level possible. Everyone here at Rockstar Husqvarna Factory Racing is looking forward to his return and believe that Jason will be back on the track, on the starting line and racing at Budds Creek! Racing Budds Creek is 95%, but the final decision will be made after timed qualifying. For racing Indiana [next weekend], we are 100%."
I know his original goal was to return at last weekends race at Unadilla but i can understand the team opting out of that mudbath. It looks set to shake things up though, Tomac and Musquin will be keeping an eye on Anderson for sure with the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross title in the balance!
