As most of you guys will be aware Monster Energy Kawasaki need someone to fill the empty 450 SX seat as Josh Grant picked up an injury during the Monster Energy Supercross race at Arlington. This is usually a legal requirement by Major sponsors to have a certain number of athletes on the track each and every race. Monster Energy will not want to have such a big hole in their roster so they have drafted in Tyler Bowers to fill that empty slot.

"Tyler Bowers will be lining up for team Monster Energy Kawasaki this weekend at round eight in Tampa, FL, riding the No. 69 KX450F. He will be filling in for the injured Josh Grant as he recovers."

There has been no confirmed details about the injury that Grant picked up but i would think it could be worse than previously though otherwise why would the go to the trouble of bringing in a replacement so soon. Grant posted this short update on social media yesterday.

"Well sh*t... Happy it's not worse and bummed it even happened! Out for a few weeks and we will be back kickin in no time."

Tyler Bowers is no stranger to Monster Energy Supercross but this will be a big step up on Factory hardware. He is currently sitting in seventeenth in the standings overall even though he dropped a round to clinch a championship title in Germany. Not a bad state of affairs for the rider! As for how long he will hold that team spot... I'm unsure, maybe he can impress and open up a new slot... interesting times :)
